How to Get a Seaplane Base Certified

Unread postby chrisbuck243 » Sat Feb 13, 2016 11:07 am

I thought some you may enjoy reading this. An awesome guest editorial sent in by Paul Jackson to http://www.seaplanemagazine.com about the process he has gone through, and is still going through in order to get his seaplane base certified.

I really enjoyed reading and working on this piece and love that Paul continues to fight for having a legitimate seaplane base even though it's not technically necessary. That's the kind of positive spotlight we need to make sure people are placing on the float plane community.

Take a look at the full article at http://seaplanemagazine.com/2016/02/12/get-seaplane-base-certified-almost/

Great article. Dave MacMillan has a seaplane base on the New Jersey site of Greenwood Lake. New Jersey does not allow seaplane operations on the Jersey side of the lake, but the FAA and the State re-issued the seaplane base certification. Fortunately you can taxis a seaplane on the New Jersey side and many have gotten boat registrations for their seaplanes also, just in case.

Chris,

E-mail Dave. Tell him about the magazine and ask him then to give you an update on his experiences.
