Us Northeast Lake owners have an email list kept by one of the active Lake owners with probably at least that many names on it. If we are having a flyout somewhere, or a flyin somewhere a message goes out to all on the list. Those that actually participate are maybe 10 souls, but the number increases every year. Hardly worth organizing a specific club. Just a spot to let folks know if there is something going on.
Speaking of fly-ins, for those interested in Lake Amphibians, our annual convention is to be held February 26, 27, 28, Mar 1, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Lakeland Florida. Lake Amphibian Club registration is $125 per person, which includes the opening banquet and morning seminars dealing with all sorts of subjects, including a maintenance seminar and lunch at the Shannon's Amphibians Plus in Bartow. You don't have to be a member to be present and soak up Lake knowledge. We have many members who bought Lakes because of this convention. The instructor's forum is worth the cost.
The Lake Amphibian Club has since, January 2016, been run by a committee of members who did not want to see the old Lake Flyers Club fall by the wayside due to inept management. Membership has increased steadily over the year and the newsletter and forum are open to members. Our website, www.lakeamphibclub.com
is open to the public and is brand new and full of good knowledge about Lake Amphibians and how to join the club.
Skimmer One has been flying now for over 6 years and has not had any problems at all, other than not flying enough each year.
