Here's your chance to let the crooks in Washington know that a privatized ATC system is bound to fail the purpose.http://seaplanemagazine.com/2017/06/29/ ... atization/

Does anyone know what the FAA ATC plan or what the Privatization plan is?
I read the most detailed explanations of 'Next Gen". When the UAV and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft grows into the tens of millions flying simultaneously around the clock, how does the plan prevent mid-airs?
VTOL aircraft flying in every direction at every speed and altitude has started. The technology exists today it's happening now. The "Big Sky" theory preventing falling debris is not going to work forever.
How much longer will "see and avoid" work?

The ATC privatization will not go away until we develop a real alternative that can do the job. We need ideas....

The first call to action came from NBAA. AOPA didn't issue a Call To Action until about 6 days after NBAA came out.
Ed Bohlen and Dan Hubbard went into this battle well prepared and aggressively, advocating equally strong for and on behalf of GA (instead of just their own constituents), whereas most of the special people clubs went with their normal copy and paste job and tried to jump on the wagon later.
The fight is FAR from over and the issue is only temporarily off the table. These ignorant shitpiles will keep pushing for ATC privatization at every turn and anyone who thinks the issue is solved stands good chances of getting hit by one of their little "lets hide it in some other bill" approach.
Klaus and I had a loooong Whatsapp chat last night and he is completely right with trying to convince the crooks in Washington that we can fix our own system, rather than relying on Trumps personal cronies to do it for us.
Proactive, aggressive, organized, transparent and unified. Something our General Aviation certified fossil- and luxury viagra clubs still seem to be challenged with figuring out.
Its time to try something different, instead of trying the same old failed attempts over and over, expecting a different result.

With the new technology coming on as Klaus pointed out as well as the ever increasing growth of drone use, especially targeted at commercial applications, there will be a need for more attention by the ATC bunch, which also means intelligent and well trained personnel. I think that a well run private group COULD get the job done, and maybe even better that a Federal group, but only if the bottom line is not important, which I know would never happen. So I mostly am against this not over the principal that privatization may do it better, but over the worry that the services will be either cut (especially to GA) or added tariffs will be added and increased for use of the skies over America.
I ran a division of TNT in the Western Hemisphere for 8 years and was exposed to the Privatized Postal Service that TNT ran in 5 European Countries as well as Australia and New Zealand. The whole thing at least looked pretty slick. I got to be at the ringing of the opening bell on Wall Street the day that we took the company public. There was a lot of fanfare about the Postal Service (at the TNT, little known in America, TNT was the Second largest over night package and freight delivery company and the single largest handler of Domestic and International Air Mail).
So, I will ask Chris and Jason, since they are in areas serviced by private Post. How is it working? I truly never knew if the Hype, was in todays terms - Fake News (or a lie in the old terms) or true.
