The announcement arrived shortly after I had reluctantly typed up Sydney Seaplanes crash from NYE2017, which wiped out a whole family...
Very bad, as it hit a very famous and rich business CEO and instantly yielded another round of media coverage from all the large outlets.

Having spent time in Costa Rico, I would not be surprised if the Grand Caravan with 12 on board and tourist luggage was well over weight.

I did some Part 135 C-402 flying in the islands in the early 90s and stopped due to what the operators wanted done.
