That's so cool someone finally got a whale near miss on video. That happens often in Southeast AK but no one ever believe ya.

I think everyone has heard that old story about the airplane that was hit with a salmon that was dropped by a frightened bird. Having a midair with a whale would certainly be a topper to that one.

Yeah Klaus, I know I've had a few in the area. We had it happen to us 2 or 3 times in one training flight in Freshwater Bay when I was with Seaplanes!

I'm not in Alaska at the moment. I worked up there for the summer of 2012 but I am flying out of San Juan for now. Might head back up to Alaska this summer though!
