After trying and using a lot of Flight Planning / GPS Software, I have settled on FlyQ, by Seattle Avionics. I love it. All the normal routing and tracking, plus all the airport features, closest, fuel, airport diagram, all the approach plates, real time weather etc. And the best part. If you are a CFI/II register on line and get the annual IFR subscription for $19.95. Sign up you new students and they get the VFR one for $19.95 for a year. I have it on my iPad Mini III and a laptop, both with built in GPS and do not need an external GPS receiver.
