It must have been quite a ride. That's the longest post Glenn has made in the 4 years this forum has been running.

Yikes!

What are you doing to re-fill that "luck bag"?

What luck, you learn as you go. I learned that the water was working better then the snow :D

We got hammered at Warwick this season for the first time in years and unfortunately the swings in temperature meant that the snow melted and then froze and then was snowed on again and again with the same cycle.

Finally got close to my hanger today and after two of us used a pick, edger and two shovels, were able to open the doors enough to get into the hanger. This is a picture looking out of my hanger. What you see across is what is in front of my doors. It will be a while before I get the doors fully open and the plane out.

You city boys are funny. My hangar gets that every week some years. Beats mowing 6 acers of lawn every day.

We are kind of like Northern Louisiana was when I lived there. On the odd season that there was snow, there was neither the infrastructure nor the experience to clean a small amount of snow. And, drivers could not handle 1/2". I should have shot from another angle too as to the left of the hanger across from mine that you can see in the picture, and the left of mine is a pretty high hill. The snow in the main transient area has to be pushed that direction and the pile is about 12 feet high. We have a very small front loader and a lightweight pickup with a plow. Now everything is ice that is hard to even chip through. The Town DOT is coming with heavy equipment this week (as more snow is forecasted) to help get this stuff out of there. For a week the piles were too high on the sides of all but one taxis area to even get to the paved runway, which is always are first priority to open up.

Have a good time Glenn. Have a huge breakfast for me as I am fasting and on a diet. Am getting some exercise and I am on the snow, but the skis are on my two feet.

Bob, what are you doing, fasting to get your weight down in anticipation of buying a Chief? Must be you want to keep the door open, so to speak, for the plump chicks. :flying:

Tim when are you coming home? I'm holding on to the clear sunny weather for you. Was -18 below this AM. Was up in Remsen last night looking at Dick Davis F86 he has in his shop. Its going on a pedestal at the runway intersection.

Had a good weekend. Had lunch at the Adirondack Hotel on Long Lake on Saturday and a chili ski fly in at Cooperstown on Sunday.
