Hey Glenn,

I thought that was probably you that I heard overhead with the snow falling while I was upstate yesterday. Plenty of snow on Argyle's Runway. You should have popped in!

I had a nice meeting with Dick Bovey up at Argyle. Did you know that he has resigned as a FAA Examiner? Give me a call later and I will fill you in.

Poor Joe and Jim Doody met me at Speculator for breakfast. Jim commented how sunny it was. We all headed north up to Indian lake and then Jim turned east and Joe turned west. I continued north and it was so smooth that I flew the gap of the Ausable gorge right on the deck and then played in the high peaks. Just south of Plattsburg I landed at a friends strip called Catalano and peed on his hangar door to let him know I had stopped in. Back west past Whiteface mt and then ran on the deck of all 3 Saranac lakes. Turned south and ran upper and lower Tupper lake, Forked lake and landed on Raquetta lake and had lunch on the tour boat tied to the dock in bubbling water. Got some efree gas from the snowmobile pump and played on a few more lakes on the way home. 5 hrs and over 350 miles, Awesome day.

Once again Glenn, awesome photos. I always wondered what that stain was on my hangar door at Kline Kill. Nice to have those smooth days that allow flying down the mountain passes. I surprised Skimmer One by taking her out on one of those days between XMas and New Years.

Saturday morning was snowing hard but the radar showed I only had to go about 20 miles to get out of it so I headed north. Speculator for breakfast and I was the only one.

At our Sunday morning bull session Marty and I were wondering what you had been up to this weekend. You sure do liven up the winter doldrums...a nice addition to the forum when there is no seaplane flying. Marty supplied the coffee at his hangar home and groused the whole time that George had plowed the runway. There was some talk about leaving the south end unplowed or maybe leaving the plow up an inch or so. It is Monday afternoon and 3PM here and the flurries just now started. Hang on!

Glenn, even I have to admit that your pictures almost make me want to come home to fly up there. ALMOST, but not quite. :attack:

Tim,

You need to take your 172 down next winter. Then maybe you would have some fun things to do.
