60s Muscle Cars

Unread postby RKittine » Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:44 pm

Neither my Baldwin Motion Competition Hemi Road Runner (1968), nor my Yenko Camaro, where street legal, though I did occasionally drive the Camaro on the street. The Baldwin Motion Car had a locked rear and could not really make turns around corners. Ran "A" Modified Production. I paid $3,980.00 brand new for the Yenko, which ran "A" S/S, less cost then the 68 Baldwin and neither had a warrantee. There is an original Yenko 69 Camaro for sale on The Dupont Registry, with matching numbers, thought to be only 1 of 16 Yenko's around in original configuration for $635,000.00. I sold it when I got married ($2,450.00 :? ), based on that history, I should have kept it and gotten rid of the girl friend at the time.

One I always wanted was a 68 396/375 Nova. Or the Baldwin Version - 427/425, but that never happened.

My 67 Corvette Roadster with the 427/435 HP can't come close to the performance built muscle cars of that age.

My last one, age wise was an LT-1 Z-28 in 1970, then I became an old and boring married guy!

The New SRT Dodges and the 7 Liter Cameros are probably faster street racers with all the bells and whistles, but just not the same. In the old days as Glenn will attest to, a set of feeler gauges, a timing light, small tool case and an oil filter wrench was about all you needed.

Naw. We really shouldn't care to much about what people who dont support the page, or even participate in it, think about anything. Those who are offended can easily locate the big red X and get lost...

Don't know much 'bout them Olympics but....

My latest project is a '76 Chevy pickup. 4x4 3/4 ton, engine 350 and transmission turbo 350. I'll post some pictures soon. $700 and I drove it home at 60 mph. It's a good start.

This is my '62 Willys project. It's highway legal now.

An apple orchard owner called and said if the Jeep was still in the back of the orchard in the morning it was going to the dump. Before towing it home we had to cut the trees growing through the floor boards. I have less then $3000.00 so far.
