SPA Forum "Under Construction"

Unread postby Dan Gervae » Sat May 01, 2010 8:47 am

I just went to the SPA web site and the forum is under construction. They said it will be out of service until a suitable replacement software for the forum can be found. Good news I hope, I would use this site and SPA's if they develop something user friendly....

Haha! I think most of the old SPA forum users did not like the emoticons.
I complied in my new place. There will never be guest posts here. Too much risk and not enough staff to run the place (!)25/7(!)
Signup has been demonstrated by 81 members to be easy and straight forward. Easy usernames & passwords are enabled.
Quick approval times are almost guaranteed. The forum allows members to post pictures, upload files and to join groups.

Posters here do not have to be a member of any organization. Almost everything is freely accessible to visitors and guests.
The more members we have, the more members will join, as they figure out that conversing with other seaplane pilots should not be limited, censored and should be fun.
SPA has been offered a "Member Only Area" - yet there will be no connection, secure connection or taking orders.
The Members Only Area 'can' be categorized into subject areas as well.

Advertising will remain to be reserved to sponsors. My focus is on small sponsors, not people who think they pay some money and end up owning the place and subsequently limit other members freedom. The place is openminded and almost entirely uncensored, except for a few choice words and badmouthing. SPA can poll their replacement forum here, afterall most, if not all the active users of the old SPA Forum are here today.

I think I'll stick to that. In the end, I can only offer help, I will not beg them... ;o)
