Seaplanemagazine.com Newsletter

Unread postby jjbaker » Sun Aug 20, 2017 11:45 am

Hi Folks,

There is a new feature available on Seaplanemagazine.com with a free newsletter.

Let me know if there are any bugs.

Lots of good stuff coming up, with Chris Buckner having jumped back in and Dave Marion having shared an extensive insight into the Aleutian Goose.

I signed up about an hour ago now, but have not received the Re-Confirming E-mail.

Most certainly a AOL induced problem.
Several subscribers have gotten it.

May be, but wasn't in my Spam folder either. Can you manually force it?

I did. See Email, I suppose AOL decides what its users receive and what not. Only email provider out there that protects its "customers" like that.

I have been on a number of other sign up areas that require an authorizing confirmation that is E-mailed to the E-mail address supplied and AOL let them pass without any issues. One recently was for a Gun Company and another for a Camera retailer that has monthly drawings for Rifle Scopes. Not sure why it did not work, but thanks for manually activating.

No problem. AOL is tricky with some hosts and programs. We had this years ago with forum and related newsletters. So far quite a few people have signed up.

It is interesting that in today's age, when you see an AOL e-mail account, you can almost count on the person being an old timer. An extension of CompuServe.

I still have a free AOL account attached to the forums Paypal. Bad thing is just that I have to check Paypal instead of just receiving alerts as intended. Newsletters often land in SPAM as I can see when people respond to Emails that have subject line: "SPAM: Thanks for donating to Seaplaneforum.com"

The newsletter on Seaplanemagazine.com requires double opt in. Unconfirmed subscriptions will just have to get deleted to save time and PITA
