Where Would You Fly To?

Unread postby chrisbuck243 » Wed Jan 17, 2018 9:12 am

So, I'm just doing some thinking and trying to start compiling a list. I know we've got people on this forum from all over and want to get opinions from anywhere and everywhere. If you had the chance to fly a floatplane, where would you fly or where would you want to fly it to? Like specifically, what lake, river, seaplane base, etc... would you want to touch down and spend time or fly to for a meeting with friends, fellow seaplane pilots, etc...

Doesn't necessarily need to just be one place. I would like to start putting together a list or database of sorts of the places seaplane pilots say I should visit so that eventually, hopefully I can cross them all off the list!

I wish they would allow seaplanes again in many of the New Jersey lakes as well as in Pennsylvania. It amazing to me how restrictive PA is given their size, extensive hunter and easy firearms laws.

That is interesting...PA is definitely not a place I would have pegged as being overly restrictive on Seaplanes.

My first interest in flying came from a trip to a mountain lake cabin in Alaska. Never get enough of the remote cabin experience. Kinda hoping when I leave this earthly existence that heaven is a lake cabin with good fly fishing and a floatplane.

You can even find that in Upstate New York.
