Thanks,

I try and keep my birthday low profile. If no one knows about it then I won't get a year older

Busy day yesterday that ended with a prime rib.

You got to deal with it Klaus, like the rest of us. Thankfully you are still young enough to not have the medical issues many of us have.

I think our little group is small enough that my birthday didn't count this year. I'm sure it takes at least a dozen people to know for it to count.

One of the pilots I'm doing an engine change with told me he was going in for some kinda surgery where the doctor is going to go in through his urethra and make the hole bigger. The first time he told me about the surgery was enough but he continued for the next two hours getting into more details.

Can't wait to get old...

Believe me, you should wait for as long as you can .... Getting old is not for the meek!

Klaus, our old flying club mechanic "Benno" had a perfect solution for talkative pilots standing next to him, talking "at" him while he was caught up to his elbows in oil and fuel and dirt... One owned a luxury dress store and his dresses were always exquisite, bright and very expensive.

He began putting an old Volkswagen hubcap next to the front wheel and filled it half with old engine oil and half with avgas.

When said pilot was standing next to him in a white suit and talked at him about his various flying adventures, Benno somehow managed to slide the hubcap right smack behind his right leg.

Mr. Superpilot was not seen in this hangar EVER again. Suitpants, shoes, socks, everything including his white jacket was stained from the mixture, when he took a step back.

True story.

Benno was a WWII pilot with metal shreds and pieces on some grenade still encapsuled in his body, very close to his spinal cord, lungs and arteries. The risk of one of these pieces moving cost him his ability to fly, so we youngsters took him out to fly everytime we could.

He could still fly like the devil, 50 years after the war and everyone (except for superpilots) loved him dearly until he passed away.

53 is nothing. Scientific research suggests that most people don't start smelling funny until at least 54.

Klaus, I bet if you put on a frilly dress, you would have less guys standing next to you.
