Not much different then the previous year except less product vendors. The FAA agencies and airport managers took up the most booths with the various flight schools taking up many of the others. Pilot/Mechanic recruitment booths where very popular and of course all the alphabet organisations begging for new members.
The one thing that was real popular this year was walkers and wheelchairs. It was great to see so many legacy pilots getting out socializing and enjoying the event. I do believe I saw a couple people under 50 that weren't occupying a booth. The show rumor this year is..., AOPA is moving their wine/cigar club members over to the new Viagra club at no extra charge.
Not all same-same though, there is a younger group of Aviators on the move with a positive recruitment. Flights Above The Pacific North West (FATPNW) It's pronounced 'fat' P. N. W. https://www.facebook.com/FATPNW/. Here's the website that explaines what "Flights Above" is and how to start a facebook aviation community in your area. http://flightsabove.org/about/. Unfortunately, by my choice, I'm not a member because my lack of a facebook account.
