What do you carry in your floats?

Unread postby zzfriend » Mon May 03, 2010 9:36 pm

I've got normal stuff: anchor and throwing line, dock bumper, spare oil and hydraulic fluid...what else ought to be there? (Survival kit, tool kit in the baggage compt.)

I'm trying to make a canvas rig to stow there, which would unroll into a sort of tight trampoline between the floats to give a little more camping room when I'll be on the water for a while. I made it work on a J3S a long time ago, but no luck this time around...fabric isn't strong enough, not enough anchors for it. Anybody done this?

I would suggest wine in plastic bottles and beer as a starter. The coolness of the water is a partial substitute for refrigeration! Next are folding chairs, tent, and whatever. When leaving from campsite the smelly trash will go into a float.

Never enough rope?
That's why boat hulls are so nice. Lots'a room....
