NE 2015 Float Fun

Unread postby cubdriver2 » Mon Aug 03, 2015 12:16 pm

Water finally went down a little up in the Adirondacks so flew up Sunday for lunch on a beach somewhere. Stillwater is one of my favorite spots so found someplace I hadn't discovered yet.

Image

Little breezy so I picked a sheltered spot, this little island looks good

Image

Image

Image

My ratty 75 year old looks pretty good in this shot

Image

Left Stillwater and met up with Tom and Mark for a overnight at Swansons Dam. Tom got a fire going

Little food

Got up at 5:30 and flew the hour south and was only 10 min late for work

The Adirondack Park is an amazing place to fly a seaplane. I also play in NH and Maine and all 3 are fantastic places to play.

Wifey and I headed north in the J4 on Sunday afternoon to stay at our friends camp in the ADK

We got there at happy hour, everybody has a motorized dock.

Did a 800 mile round trip in my yellow Cub this weekend from Cowpie to Old Town Maine and back to look at a Champ for sale.. Daylight ran out and we ended up at my friends home strip up by Exeter Maine for the night.

Some of you might remember me posting a video of my friend Marks fleet flying after a new engine back in June 2014. That engine lunched out with low oil pressure after a few hours. Took him a year to get his money back from the guy who sold it to him. He sent his old core to Al Ball in California back in June and 2 weeks ago it came back and runs great. He met me for breakfast on Sat and is after a long wait is a happy camper once again.

Image

While we were at Johnstown we did a little tour in the " 195 " factory.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Then jumped in the J4 and flew north to Stillwater and enjoyed a calm day

You either have to have a REALLY long arm for a "Selfee" like that, or a friend that is on the ground with a camera. :flying:

With the shots from this year alone, we could have done a Cubdriver2 Seaplaneforum.com Calendar all by itself and peeps would buy it...
