That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Funny that you can't just check yourself out if you're already listed on the insurance.
Not sure whats so special about a Sedan on floats. 3 solo takeoffs and landings, and off you go.

I am listed on the insurance with the caveat "check out in make and model required. I am also rusty not having been on floats in a number of years, so I want and need it. And still the next obstacle is the annual, which is complicated by another issue. I bought a new Seaplane Vest, a New GPS for this plane, made a camera mount and have my Spare Air charged up and in a holster for the plane. Everything else is in it ready to go. If I owned it by myself, I would risk letting another seaplane pilot fly with me and get me current, but I can not jeopardize my friend and the possibility of the insurance disallowing a claim if I did something that wrecked the plane.

High tide, 29' swing this weekend.
So we paddled a mile up Seldovia bay to Schooner bay
End of the Solstice Festival beach picnic[/URL
We caught a 39lb halibut the day before so we cooked some up on the fire. Yummy
I found this tree up the beach growing on the high tide line on a rock cave. The struggle of life.
The remains of a 1900 Schooner litter the beach
Oops, low tide
Got back at 10pm and took a 4 wheeler ride to the beach
Water taxi picked up us at Jakcoo beach at 8am[/URL
Said good by to our dear friends Stu and Betsy
In Seward tonight, whale watch tomorrow
I may never go home

Great photos. Looks like great time, great friends and lots of fun. I went to Maine 33 summers and experienced 12 foot tides, but never 29. We used to drive golf balls into the water at high tight and go pick them up at low tide, while picking crabs out of the small tidal pools for dinner.
Thanks for sharing Glenn. Safe trip home.

Never got my floatplane home before my trip so I went down to check on my docks this morning. The wind had blown an ash tree over right where my tail would have been.
Beavers have a dam built again so the root ball was under water and pulled out
Got the tree cut up and went to move the rowboat
And found this
Two little beavers, eyes not ever open yet

Glad that your plane was not there Glenn and did not get damaged. We have a beaver issue at Warwick that we work on every season.

So......Farmboy when he's borded surfs Google Earth is search of the perfect eatery with a Hayfield close by. This morning we headed East to the CT river valley and a 400 cow dairy with a hayfield across from a saphouse/restaurant/ice cream palor. Field was a little rolly with a wire and pole in the middle, no sweat. No other plane have ever landed their and the owners were tickled pink that we landed. I had one of the best omlets I have ever eaten. Car cruisin is Thursday at 6 at we are invited to attend.
Then we stopped at Jake's to check out the new hangar and I then flew off to island to visit Bob. I got him to get the hemi beast out and go for ice cream.
He scared the crap outa me on the way over, I hate being a passenger.
I got to drive on the way back, paybacks are a bitch, but I had to really scare the crap outa myself before I got Bob scared

Glenn always finds great places to eat. Those breakfasts looked great and Bob F. seems a little heavier this season after the winter hibernation!

Heading North to Raggmuff Sunday morning
Raggmuff, 25+ gusting left CW
Sugarloaf, Sawyers base. You want to learn how to fly out of a windy hole in the middle of Maine? Call Sawyer
The wind was howling and we waited for this on final for about 2 minutes
Might have a new stomping ground soon
Jim and Brenda we had a fantastic time. Fairground flyin was better then an E-ticket at Disney. This great country was built by great folks like you and your family and we and your local community are lucky to have you guys as friends. Thank you.
