Here's an official "Welcome Aboard," Buter. (is that pronounced like Booter, or Butter?) :moons: (Never mind the chuck wagon emoticon, that's for girls)

You might want to watch the banner ads that appear on here. I just saw one for a seaplane base in the keys. I didn't get a change to click on it before it was gone, so I don't know anything about it, but it will probably reappear. It will probabaly be of interest to you.

By searching I'm sure you'll find some interesting threads on here ranging from Cubs to Albatrosses. There's a wealth of information in them. And, be sure to ask questions. We need some new blood in here to get some conversations going. Some of them will end up going off on tangents, but they're still interesting when they get moving.

Welcome aboard. Look forward to your posts. Did you live near Jack Higgins?

Thanks for the welcome, gents.

My name rhymes with hooter, not nutter.

Would that be Jack Higgins the author, Bob? Doesn't ring a bell, but I'll inquire.

I'll certainly do my best to add to the mix here and drag as many people in as I can. We certainly seem to be moving quickly on this as we've just booked a trip to the Keys at the beginning of April to get a feel for the place. Watch this space...

Gotta fly (see what I did there?), I'm off to Houston.

Cheers

Hey everybody,

My names Stew, I fly an A185 around eastern Ontario, Canada and western Quebec for fun with a possibility of doing some short term commercial operations in the near future. I've got about 50hrs hours on floats right now but I expect to build heavily on that in the near future as I'm having the plane put on a pair of EDO3500s. I'm fairly interested in the technical side, I may begin training as an aerospace engineer in the near future.

Thanks, Stew

Welcome, Stew. I hope you can share some good fishing spots in Quebec with the New York Contingent. I haven't been up there since before 9/11. I'd really like to do it again. I had a friend who lived in Quebec City, among other places, who flew a 180. We joined up a couple times and hit some lakes (lac ?) north of Quebec. I also went to Cabonga reservoir a couple times. We also flew way out the St Lawrence river to Baie-Comeau, and then headed north for about an hour to his cabin on a HUGE lake that I can't remember the name of.

Hello all,
I'm here because I like airplanes, especially floatplanes. My first water landing was in a Mooney (http://my.tbaytel.net/plhuneau/Mooney1.html). It was so much fun I wanted to do it again, but I wanted to be able to takeoff on the water too. So now I have a Champ on floats. It's not as fast as a Mooney but it's just as much fun. I fly the Champ in Northwestern Ontario.
Enjoying the forum,

Hi,

My name is Karl, I'm from England, I have been flying floats in Australia for a few years and lucky for me happen to be a Canadian resident so moving to BC this month. Really looking forward to getting to the native home of floats and experiencing all that is on offer. I have spent a bit of time bush flying in Africa and have been working for an aerial fire fighting/crop spraying company here in Australia recently both loading the aircraft and a little flying (not fire bombing). Sure I will meet a few of you on my travels, look out for a big English guy, always keen for a chat and a beer.

Howdy from Phoenix, AZ. Heading up to Talkeetna this summer for finally add on my SES. Hope to also get to Adventure Seaplanes and get some more instruction/time this year. Long time coming. Now to build enough time by various means to be able to get an amphib (and keep the gear in the right location) so I can fly floats here in AZ.

Anyone else from AZ, maybe even with and float plane?
