Beaver/206 draft

Unread postby Buter » Sat Aug 23, 2014 4:10 am

Mornin boys

Anyone know off the top of their head how much a Beaver and a 206 draw? Displaced and on step?

Just trying to figure out if I can get either a/c into my back yard.

Cheers

On most floats the water rudders will touch just before the keels. If your water rudders on the Beaver floats are 16 inches figure 18 inches to be safe. When on step just be very careful with anything less then a foot, I've seen some of these river operators get into a lot of trouble because one float touches and sends the plane 20-30 degrees off course and into the weeds high and dry.

Thanks Klaus

I'll have a good look around in the skiff before trying to bring a plane in. The charts show 2 feet mean low, so there's not a lot in it.

Won't be necessary to park the plane behind the house; more of a novelty, really.

Cheers
