Memory Lane Pics

Unread postby BGH » Thu Jun 02, 2016 9:16 pm

So you are in the middle of nowhere & popped a rivet on the floats while taking off downwind at 4800 ft with 2 people,1/2 tanks - oh & 1/2 a moose on board & don't feel like swimming in a 3800 ft lake in October. What to do.We cut a bunch of logs, laid some planks at the keels & pulled it out of the water backwards onto dry land to drill the rivet out & put a bolt, washers on both sides & a nut on the inside in with roof sealant all over it.Let it sit overnight & then slowly released the aircraft which rolled on top of the logs & back into the water( had to keep the truck attached so it didn't get away.Dock shot is of her floating ,no leaks.Pictures taken around 1990.
