Precautionary Landing on New York Highway

The video on Youtube is pretty good. I'd say everyone (pilot, drivers, and police) did the right thing to make it come out as well as might be expected. However, what cause the problem in the Cessna 206 is not known to me. Looking at the pictures with the cowling off, I strongly suspect it was related to the engine.

And it tied up the traffic with rubber neckers for hours. I was stuck in the mess for quite some time.

I've always been amazed that that behavior. I'm doubly concentrating on the cars on the road with me at times like that because I know I've got a lot of distracted drivers around me.

Typical of that road, this time of the year, there was a Police Car almost right there, that saw it happen and was on the scene in no time and today with all the cell phones that take video as well as dash cams, at least a few people got a film of the landing.
