I wish the best of luck finding a pilot. The company wants 700 hours with 50 float. Twenty years ago they would have resumes stacked to the ceiling. Today they are advertising around the world to find an eligible candidate.

This generation want "money for nothin', chicks for free than get stoned". Most of the younger people need no ambition or sense of adventure. They are so brainwashed to believe in a four year degree. They tell me technology jobs are the only way to go. Microsoft, Apple, Internet commerce, software or any cubicle computer job. Eight hours staring at a terminal, ride their $3000.00 bicycle home and get stoned. The good ones join the military and get hired before their time is up. My neck of the woods, we have entered into a labor shortage. The economy is totally being controlled by the available man hours to meet demand. There's restaurants here posting shorter hours because there's no one left to work the shifts. This is a seasonal town, wait till summer hits.

I think its a good sign to see expansion and them reaching out to my magazine. Especially neat to see any EU seaplane outfit add staff.

The Norwegian language part is going to be quite a limiting factor, but I would think whoever gets this gig is going to enjoy some pretty amazing flying in a pretty amazing country.

€30.00/ Month to list with me, so if you know of any companies looking to add pilots, mechanics or other aviation related jobs, send them to editor@seaplanemagazine.com

The outfits I know that are hiring, use head hunter staffing groups.

The head hunters then advertise with the aviation advertising company: http://www.jsfirm.com/

Kinda tough to compete with these guys but maybe you can do what General Aviation News does:

I have a jsfirm job feed for the magazine. There's just really no benefit for Seaplanemagazine.com in it at this point. Thats like running third party business just to artificially inflate the unique user count.

I'd rather do this on demand and in direct contact with the companies who are most privy to actually invest in our concept.

Classifieds could be a way, but I don't want to spend time with penny pinchers anymore.

There's a ton of readers who would be willing to chip in, even if we don't offer exclusive access or content.

Not going to try and aim for mainstream here.

The language requirement is a "Plus" as it 185/206 time etc. etc. etc. Then there is only about 8 weeks of the season that a pilot can plan on they would like someone who will come back season after season. I would think that a local is pretty much what they will have to expect, so like here in the New York with the seasonal Caravan drivers, the rest of the year they can do something else from their same living arrangements. Would be a fun way to spend a summer though, but then again they want 60 or less. :geek:

Cheers

I think the minimum is an 8 week committment.
We'll see. The topic was shared quite a bit, so maybe there's hope.

Any idea what they are paying? I have a friend who might be interested and I believe actually speaks the language.
