How hard do you have to work to make $10,000?? The Recreational Aviation Foundation is convinced that you have to work very hard but also work smart and ask others to help

The RAF is once again a finalist for the Lightspeed Aviation Pilot’s Choice Award and you can help by doing at least one of the following.

1. Go to www.theraf.org and click on the vote box in the upper left on the homepage. (It will take you less than a minute to vote and all you need is an email address)

2. Go to http://www.lightspeedaviationfoundation.org/ and click on vote now.

3. Ask friends and family to vote for the RAF. Make it easy for them by sending them the above links.

4. If you are a Facebook person please go on www.facebook.com and share the post. By sharing the RAF Lightspeed post it will go out to thousands more than we could reach on our own.

Remember by taking a few minutes of your time it could mean $10,000 towards preserving recreational airstrips all across the country.

Maybe try going to Lightspeed first and then vote for RAF from there.

I got a message from RAF to vote again so I went to the Lightspeed webpage and tried with my "normal" email address and got the error message again. Must be it saw my first vote and rejected a second. So, I used my little-used email address and my address in Florida and got the vote to go through.

They already get million$ from their 2 minute prime-time TV commercial$ 20 time$ each evening. When was the last time you saw a TV commercial for GA?

I think you're mistaking a borderline criminal non profit animal abuse prevention organization that benefits greatly from putting abused/ sad looking animals on your screen and steals money from people who get sick to their stomach when they see animal abuse, with a very small volunteer group of people who fly rescue animals to their new homes. Pilots N Paws has nothing to do with ASPCA. You could support them by opening your home to an animal on layover, or by helping with logistics of getting an animal securely transported from the airport to its new home.

PilotsNPaws does quite a bit for general aviation and its public image, just like Angel Flight does.... they show a lot of people that general aviation pilots are not in-compassionate schmucks with lots of money to blow on little hobby jets and luxury parties and events. You are more than welcome to use your personal jet in helping them get Fifi a new home, but you'll probably get the same hotdog as anyone else and no red carpet upon arrival... Try it, you might like them. Great bunch of people.

RAF devotes its highly cost efficient and low budget efforts towards saving and creating airports for all pilots by fighting oppressive government policies and regulations as well as promoting pilot image among a poorly informed public.

If people feel the need to fly Fidos around in order to care for them for any personal reasons, then they should personally make all the funds available upfront in order to do so. My dogs and any i might wish to "rescue" are strictly my responsibility.

I heard that some of these advocacy organizations have now moved to using little sad looking puppies in their membership renewal mailings.

My dog actually did the math...



Once they all stop behaving like little luxury, by invitation only old boys clubs, I'll see that this forum promotes them and helps them make revenue.
